Dr. Falkner was born and raised in Holly, MI. He realized the benefits of chiropractic while growing up and playing sports where his family chiropractor kept him on the field and free of nagging injuries.
He went to Saginaw Valley State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Exercise Science. His studies there helped re-enforce the idea that “exercise is medicine” and that many of today’s health problems can be helped or cured through appropriate lifestyle changes.
After graduating, he moved to St. Louis, MO to attend Logan College of Chiropractic where he graduated summa cum laude with his Doctorate of Chiropractic. While there, he took additional post graduate courses on performance care and rehabilitation to compliment his chiropractic studies. His chiropractic training included several traditional chiropractic techniques such as Diversified and Gonstead as well as gentler techniques like Activator and Cox Flexion/Distraction techniques.
While in St. Louis, Dr. Falkner also received his Master’s in Sports Science and Rehabilitation where he was valedictorian of his class. His training there included additional classes focused on diagnosing and treating sports injuries and correcting biomechanics. He also held an internship in the University of Missouri’s Strength and Conditioning Program where he worked directly with the athletes of the football, tennis, swim, cross country, and track teams to improve their performance. In fact, Dr. Falkner is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, making him better suited to help both athletes and coaches meet their performance goals as a member of their support team.
Following graduation, Dr. Falkner joined a small percentage of chiropractors (less than 60 in Michigan!) when he became a board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®. He also is a certified provider for RockTape and FAKTR – two effective rehab techniques for soft tissue injuries. At his previous practice in Saginaw, Dr. Falkner had the opportunity to treat many of the collegiate athletes of SVSU, Delta, and Northwood.
While Dr. Falkner has a passion for treating athletes, he also enjoys keeping every member of the family healthy. He has treated infants and young children for colic, ear aches, constipation, and bedwetting using gentle, proven techniques. Dr. Falkner has also provided relief for pregnant moms complaining of low back pain, sciatica, and upper back pain.
Dr. Falkner and his wife Laura live in Grand Blanc with their daughter Maggie and their dog Lucky. When they’re not in the office, they enjoy finding new places to hike, playing soccer and tennis, and spoiling their dog with walks and treats!
